Audrey Castoreno


As a journalist, Audrey has a unique style of breaking through to her audience. She strives to bring the truth to light, tell both sides to the story, and strike a spark in her viewers. She hopes to further enhance her techniques by finding a newsroom that will help her grow as a journalist. On this site you will find her biography, resume, as well as several examples of her work.

Audrey’s Biography

Audrey Castoreno is an award winning journalist based in Midland/ Odessa, Texas. She currently is employed with Drewry Communications, KWES-NewsWest 9, an NBC affiliate. As an anchor and reporter she is always on the move. She is well rounded in live breaking news coverage both behind the desk and on the scene. Audrey also believes in connecting with her community by becoming an active member in different organizations.

Before moving out West, Audrey was learning the ropes of reporting in Victoria, Texas. She spent over a year as a one-man-band reporter at KAVU -News Center 25.  As a reporter and fill in anchor she covered news in 13 counties. Where she learned to write, shoot and edit all of her own work.

Beginning in her first newsroom at 16, Audrey began learning reporting basics in her high school program, Dobie News. She continued her education by obtaining a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. EAT 'EM UP KATS! There she was an active member of the university's television station, KSHU-News 7.

Audrey continued to gain experience through an internship at KRIV- Fox 26 in Houston, which she considers to be one of her most rewarding experiences.
